The Netherlands Cancer Institute - Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital, founded in 1913, is among the top 10 comprehensive cancer centers worldwide, combining world-class fundamental, translational, and clinical research with dedicated patient care. The Netherlands Cancer Institute - Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital (NKI-AVL) collaborates closely with other research institutes, hospitals, funding bodies and pharmaceutical companies in the areas of fundamental and applied cancer research.

The Knowledge Transfer & Contracting department within NKI-AVL (‘KT&C’) helps both fundamental cancer researchers and clinicians to conclude research-related contracts, with other academic research institutions as well as with industry and for pre-clinical and clinical research.

One of NKI’s main aims is to see its scientific breakthroughs being turned into novel products and services that benefit cancer patients. To help achieve this, KT&C is charged with maximizing the chances that the Institute’s research results find application in healthcare. KT&C manages the patent portfolio and other intellectual property assets of the institute. They actively engage with life science, healthcare companies and biotech investors who have the commitment and resources to bring their innovations to the market. KT&C handles all consultancy agreements

Description de l'emploi.

As both the number and the complexity of clinical trials increase, NKI-AVL is looking to strengthen the current team of 6 Clinical Trial Contract Managers with a senior position.

The Team Lead Clinical Trial Contracts will report directly to the Head Knowledge Transfer & Contracting. He/she will lead negotiations of Clinical Trial Agreements (CTA), including associated budgets. In addition to managing the contractual obligations under active CTAs, the Team Lead Clinical Trial Contracts will also act as Team Lead for the Clinical Trial Contracts team within the KT&C and as the internal and external interface for clinicians, pharmaceutical companies, CROs, clinical project managers and others. 

As Team Lead, you will be expected to coach and - within the team - conclude your own share of the clinical contracts that the Institute wishes to enter into’ (e.g. ensure continued professional development). Team The Team Lead Clinical Trial Contracts will be involved in national and international collaborative structures relevant to clinical research and will need to build up and expand a network within this environment.

Profil du candidat.

You:

  • Are familiar with clinical research in an academic hospital environment.
  • Should be able to demonstrate extensive, hands-on experience with negotiating, drafting and reviewing Clinical Trial Agreements including the associated budgets.
  • A pragmatic and solution-oriented work attitude is desired in tackling contractual problems, while at all times considering the good long-term relationship with your partners. 
  • Decisiveness and flexibility are essential for fulfilling this role. 
  • Are expected to be an excellent communicator and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Have experience with managing and developing a team is preferable

Conditions de travail.

The salary will be according to the Dutch Collective Labor Agreement for hospitals. Other benefits afforded by the Collective Labor Agreement also apply.
