Job Description

The role of the ACCOUNT MANAGER for Molecular Diagnostic software is to further develop ongoing business relationship with existing customers and to develop meaningful business with new customers. More precisely, you will be in charge for upselling, cross selling, be the contact of your customer base, all while developing brand recognition in the UK and managing NHS or related tenders. 
UgenTec markets its AI platform to experts - molecular biologists, lab directors, diagnostic companies, and agriculture companies. In this complex b2b market, solution selling skills are important, and experience selling to diagnostic labs and/or agbio institutions is a prerequisite.

Your company brand should be at the heart of everything that you do as an Account Manager, you are representing the brand daily, and how you approach your role should be in line with the values of UgenTec. The Account Manager serves as the primary business contact for the client and is responsible for client satisfaction. You are expected to consistently provide excellent sales and customer service to accounts, as well as represent client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality. In addition, the AM should build relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities to ensure reaching all sales and financial goals. 

The Account Manager works closely with the Sales and Marketing Team, the Customer Service Team and Product Team, and reports to the Sales Director EMEA.

Candidate profile

Business Skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a scientific subject.
  • Strong affinity with SaaS.
  • At least 5 year experience in Sales in Molecular Diagnostics and/or Genomic Software. You should at minimum be able to position the benefits of a software solution for lab automation and ideally not be a stranger to software sales.
  • Experience and network in NHS hospitals with experience in public procurement. 

Specific Job Skills: 

  • Product and business knowhow in a molecular diagnostic environment. 
  • Trained in excellent negotiations on a high level. 
  • Competent to develop account strategies and promotion strategies in accordance with overall channel strategy. 
  • Develop account goals and business plan with customers and management.

  • Both Upselling and Cross Selling skills are required.

Computer skills: 

  • Must be adept in use of general MS Office, CRM, internet and email. Capable of ensuring data-collection, reporting and business reviews. 
  • The nature of the role requires a high affinity with software in general. We do not expect you to be an IT person, but you should be able to communicate the value of software, AI and algorithms to both IT-savy and less IT-minded people. Therefor you should be knowledgeable enough to turn the needs of the customers into real value propositions during your conversations.

Language skills: 

  • You are a native/bilingual English speaker.
