Position in the organization:
The Business Developer will report directly to the Head KT&C.
Responsibilities The role of the Senior Business Developer covers a broad spectrum of activities and tasks:
- Evaluating of research results for commercial potential and protection of intellectual property.
- Conducting market research and identify and approach potential licensing/co-developmentpartners.
- Assisting in setting up new companies that aim to develop and commercialize novel productsrelevant to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
- Being lead negotiator for license and research contracts, supported by KT&C’s legal team.
- Supporting researchers and clinicians in their interactions with third parties.
- Keeping abreast of developments in cancer research and in industry.
- Monitoring correct follow-up of commercial and research contacts.
- Performing due diligence on assets (IP, data, materials) that are the subject of interest fromexternal parties.
- Developing and maintaining an extensive network within NKI and bridging network to:
o Industry partners.
o Investors/entrepreneurs.
o Knowledge Transfer staff at other research organizations.
o Funding bodies for cancer research.
o Governmental organizations.
o Service providers such as patent attorneys, law firms.
